Goalkeeper
Marcelo Leite (Brazil)
Although he conceded 9 goals, he saved his team from more than double and was the standout goalkeeper of the Grand Prix. He was one of the few bright spots on his team. It's worth mentioning the Israeli goalkeeper Yogev Benon, who did not concede a goal in the tournament and instilled confidence.
Defense
Asahel Ben Shabat (Israel)
The best defender of the World League. Physical, efficient, a great reader of the game, and with enough technical skill to contribute in attack. A true asset to the Israeli team.
Defense
Benel Edri (Israel)
He played injured but still demonstrated the qualities and composure suitable for players at the highest levels. Another reason for Israel's dominance in the tournament.
Defense
Guy Shamir (Israel)
Israel's impressive pool of excellent players is also evident in defender Shamir, who knows how to both defend and attack at the same level, working hard throughout the game and coordinating well with his teammates.
Defense
Roy Paz (Israel)
Probably the player who covered the most kilometers among the Grand Prix participants. He completes the strong defensive quartet of the best team in the World League.
Midfield
Paulo Moura (Israel)
The Brazilian-origin midfielder has shown Brazil how it's done. They say he’s a showman, but is there any team in the World League that wouldn't want him as an anchor in front of the defense and behind the attack?
Midfield
Ben Ben Yair (Israel)
Israel has several players who could easily integrate into professional football today; Ben Ben Yair is one of them. A dynamo in attack, physical and intelligent in play, he is the barometer of the Israeli team. It’s no wonder his coach sees him as the embodiment of the entire team. Perhaps the best and highest quality player in the World League.
Midfield
Milardo Asrat (Israel)
We don’t know how many more games we’ll see him in the World League, as he has citizenship issues to sort out before he becomes a full professional. Until then, we can enjoy a football diamond — a magician on the pitch, a true gem of the World League.
Midfield
Beto (Brazil)
The superstar struggled to acclimate in the match against Israel, partly due to tight marking against him, but when he was freed and felt the good energy, he provided heavenly football. His touch hasn't diminished, and his playing qualities are numerous and varied. Even in a mediocre Grand Prix, he still stands out significantly above the rest.
Attack
Shachak Ben Shabat (Israel) – MVP
The tournament's MVP, and it’s worth noting he started on the bench in his team’s match against Brazil… When he came on in the second half, he did as he pleased on the pitch, as he did against Hungary. He looks like a player for the official Israeli national team: tall, fast, technical, smart, and integrates excellently into the team framework. How does such a player not play in one of the top three leagues in his country? We are amazed.
Attack
Janos Kiss (Hungary)
The Hungarian captain was the only player to penetrate the Israeli defense fortress, and the Brazilians didn’t fare any better. The effective forward in the World League was among the few Hungarians who arrived at the Grand Prix in excellent form.
Substitutes:
Ilay Fisher (Israel)
When this kid turns on the jets, even the wind won’t catch him. He assisted a fantastic goal in his team’s historic victory over Brazil.
Joey Demos (Israel)
The Israeli captain enjoys the qualities of those around him, never resting and not hesitating to defend when needed.
Omri Ron (Israel)
The Israeli depth is impressively showcased time and again; Omri Ron is one of the standout forwards in the Grand Prix.
Norbert Kerenyi (Hungary)
The player-coach of the Reds is a player who can be described in one word: class.
Thiago Cupello (Brazil)
The former player slightly reminded us of his days in Brescia, and he is still one of the most quality players in the World League.
Coach:
Oved Kraus (Israel)
What more can be said about a coach whose team explodes in the crucial moment, scoring 14 goals, with all his players seeming like they came from another world and look like full professionals? His brilliant game managing, his preparation, and perfect tactical positioning of his team, the substitutions, and especially what he manages to extract and achieve—make him, without a doubt, the best coach of the World League today.
